Pricing supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the pricing team and ensuring that the process is run efficiently and accurately.
This includes the gathering of daily pricing data from various sources (external and internal), analyzing and back testing of proprietary fair value pricing models and communicating these results to various parties. The pricing supervisor will need to be well versed in the Western Asset pricing policy, an expert on the latest industry recommended regulations regarding security valuation and have the ability to clearly communicate these to the the pricing committee, clients and other internal or external parties. A supervisor's responsibility also includes ensuring that the group is efficient, motivated and appropriately staffed, and implementing where possible process efficiencies to save time and improve accuracy.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Oversee pricing of daily valued client accounts/funds; ensure that is in-line with Western Asset's pricing philosophy
Oversee the process of fair valuing complex assets, back test for accuracy, enhance models where appropriate
Oversee process for daily NAV approval of Legg Mason (WAMXO sub-advised) Mutual Funds
Prepare and present bi-monthly materials to Western Asset's Pricing Committee
Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily tasks and projects
Work closely with other areas of the firm to accurately and efficiently disseminate pricing issues/information
Accurately communicate Western Asset's philosophy and process to (internal and external) clients, consultants and auditors
Train, coach and mentor staff members; formally review staff semi-annually
Competencies:
Proven leader with minimum experience of five years of Pricing of fixed income securities
Experience with wide range of international and domestic security types: debt, rights warrants, options, futures and OTC derivatives; modeling experience a plus
Strong communication skills required
Ability to maintain and defend a view of pricing that is independent of other areas
Experience with Bloomberg, MS Excel and internet-based tools required
Experience with Spot and Forward exchange rates a plus
Detail oriented, organized, proactive, project oriented with the ability to perform in a fast paced, high pressure, team environment
Academic Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in relevant field. CFA preferred.
