The Financial Control Group manages Morgan Stanley's risk by implementing financial controls over the Firm's business activities. It is responsible for Morgan Stanley's financial records, ensuring that the Firm's assets and liabilities are properly controlled and that senior management has accurate, timely financial information for forecasts and planning. FCG acts as financial officer to the Business Units, providing profitability analyses, business plans and budgets to support their current and planned activities.

The Product Control teams within FCG are specifically aligned to the Sales and Trading Business, and as such have a key control role to play in a complex and volume increasing environment.
An opportunity has arisen to join the Equity Product Controllers team in Singapore at the Senior Manager, reporting in Singapore to the Head of Singapore Equity Product Control, and functionally to the heads of Hong Kong, Tokyo and London Delta One controllers. The primary remit is to supervise the Business Unit Controllers whom are based in Singapore and whom are supporting both the Equity Delta One and Equity Proprietary Trading Desks across Asia and Europe.

This team is expected to expand significantly over the next 12 months as further roles are relocated from London to Singapore, such that by the end of 2009 this team will be approximately 15 to 20 people. As such, this job description is for a new role created as a result of a proposed restructuring of the team to facilitate the rapid expansion of Equity Product Control team in Singapore.


Skills Required:
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years relevant working experience is required. This experience will have been gained whilst qualifying as an accountant at a public accountancy firm, and / or working in the Financial Control function of the Investment Banking sector.

It is also a preference that significant experience has been gained as an Equity Product Controller.

Skills Required:
• Strong leadership skills and good team player
• Excellent written/verbal communications skills, including English speaking.
• Ability to manage multiple task, effective time management, and able work under pressure.
• Ability to maintain a strong internal control environment.
• Competent to streamline process flow to improve efficiency of the team
• Very detail oriented and well organized.
• Must have strong working knowledge of Excel. Access is a plus.
