Senior Portfolio Manager of Value Equities based in our New York office and reporting to Global Head of Senior Portfolio Managers who will focus initially on internal projects relating to the Value business and over time become a key member of our Value investment team.

Position Specification:

The Senior Portfolio Manager works with and supports our current and prospective clients and investment consultants. It is anticipated that over time this will comprise an increasing portion of the individual's time. The role that he or she plays will be to:

• Provide the potential client or consultant with information and insights related to the firm's strategies and disciplines in a variety of investment services, primarily Global, International and US Value Equities.

• Interpret the elements of the firm's investment processes including how the firm: Conducts fundamental and quantitative research; Manages portfolios; Manages risk

• Respond to specific questions of the potential client or their advisors or consultants.

• Provide generalized knowledge and information regarding the capital markets, equities and fixed income securities.

• Provide insights into value-oriented investment strategies.

• Engender trust and confidence in the client.

• Sell ideas and knowledge.

• Provide insights on asset allocation strategies and manager structure.

• Speak publicly to clients and other external audiences.

• Participate in the creation of marketing and client service material.

• Assist in the preparation of RFPs and RFls.

• The majority of the Senior Portfolio Manager's time will be spent on matters directly related to the smooth operation of our Value business.  Some of the activities that may be included in this are:

• A thorough review of our investment management agreements, including guidelines and fees, to highlight inconsistencies, if any

• On-going liaison with operations to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of client portfolio performance

• Monthly and quarterly prioritization of performance attribution by the global analytical team

• An understanding of the reporting requirements of our North American client base and, in coordination with the institutional marketing and MIS groups, a greater standardization of best practices

• Active participation in the investment process through either quantitative or fundamental research projects.

• Participation in the development of new products and in the customization of existing products for client specific needs.

• Creation and publication of white papers on matters relating to the capital markets and the pension fund industry

In order to succeed at the firm, the individual must be bright, energetic, intellectually sophisticated, client service orientated and able to work in a team-based culture.

The Senior Portfolio Manager's position can require extensive travel. The individual must be comfortable with the idea of being out of the office between 20-30% of the normal workweek.
