The purpose of this job is to provide accountability for the data quality and timeliness of all exchange listed pricing data that is transmitted and databased. In general this entails monitoring incoming data feeds; performing prescribed data quality assurance tests and universe size checks; maintaining relationships with stock exchanges and other external data providers as well as internal support and product representatives. Responsibilities include performing research on data anomalies and non standard situations; and communicating any data quality or data set release delays through appropriate channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring incoming feeds and data sets to ensure the timely arrival of necessary data-sets, which may include generating pricing sweeps that populate pricing production files.
Researching and resolving through communication with internal departments and external sources any delays to the arrival of data-sets
In the event of problems occurring, keep all relevant internal departments apprised of the scope, impact and progress towards their resolution
Running, reading and understanding all versions of data and price edit reports, and applying edits/changes/deletions as required.
Validating pricing data in a time sensitive manner using trade data information such as time and sales (tick by tick) as well as third party data sources.
Contacting exchanges, sources and vendors on a daily basis
Accurately recording all edit/change/deletion records
Reading, interpreting and executing various reports generated daily which assist in the maintenance of various databases
Maintaining current and historical data in various databases
Matching securities with their related identifiers across multiple databases
Maintaining holiday schedules and time zone changes for all covered Global Markets
Writing documentation on specific tasks, data types and country/exchange profiles, as required in the group
Writing clear and concise descriptions of data disruptions for internal Alert database
Responding to data and pricing queries in a timely manner
Researching data anomalies using exchange websites, third party pricing screens, and knowledge of internal workings of various Interactive Data databases.
Perform project work and special assignments as requested

Qualifications and skills
1-2 years of professional experience in a related industry, or professional experience that includes independent research, problem solving, teamwork and operating under tight deadlines would be desirable
PC literate - Word, Excel, Internet/E-mail
Sound numerical skills.
BA or BS Degree preferred but not essential.
