A top European Investment Bank is currently looking to recruit a highly technical Development Manager with a strong background in Unix and C++ development to work within their Repo IT team. 

The Repo IT team makes up part of IB Fixed Income and is responsible for the Firm’s Front Office Trading Systems used for Repo, Securities Lending and Collateral Management. The Bank's Repo applications are used to fund the bank to the tune of 250 billion USD daily.  The system is not only used by the Front Office to book trades but also for position keeping, P&L, risk and analytics with links to all back office systems.

Successful candidates will have a strong background in Unix and C++ development and will be responsible for the delivery of C++ and .NET components for users based in New York, London and Asia-Pac.

Main duties of this position will include:

• Specification, design, programming and delivery of trading systems and components in both Unix C++ and .NET

• Active involvement by taking on development tasks

• Liaison with support team (post implementation 3rd level support and production releases)

• Taking responsibility for coding standards, development tools and processes, architecture and design reviews, adherence to SDLC

• Providing technical guidance for software development

• Writing detailed technical specifications for junior members of the team

• Interfacing with Architecture and Engineering group

• Line management responsibility for development team consisting of Unix and .NET developers

Candidates should have a strong and proven background in designing, building and delivering complex systems coupled with experience in a line management position, demonstrable expertise in troubleshooting multithreaded applications & design patterns, in depth knowledge of at least one OS and database (Oracle or Sybase).
