The Financial Control Group manages Morgan Stanley's risk by implementing financial controls over the Firm's business activities. It is responsible for Morgan Stanley's financial records, ensuring that the Firm's assets and liabilities are properly controlled and that senior management has accurate, timely financial information for forecasts and planning. FCG acts as financial officer to the Business Units, providing profitability analyses, business plans and budgets to support their current and planned activities.
The Product Control teams within FCG are specifically aligned to the Sales and Trading Business, and as such have a key control role to play in a complex and volume increasing environment.
Job Description:
An opportunity has arisen to join the Equity Product Controllers team in Hong Kong at a Senior manager level reporting into a VP. The primary remit will be direct responsibility of a team of 5 people working on Daily P&L production, reconciliations and month end tasks for Vanilla Derivatives, Proprietary Trading and Arbitrage Strategy. The role also involves liaising with Front Office, Operations & IT as well as Ad hoc reporting.
The successful individual will have a proven track record of team supervision, problem solving abilities and an understanding of local regulations as well as a reasonable grasp of the prevailing GAAP environment. In addition to managing the team, the individual will need to be comfortable with liaising with traders as well as middle office and operations.
Skills Required: • English Speaking. Good Excel skills • University Graduate and Qualified Accountant, with minimum of 5 years relevant banking experience, preferably within equities.
