As one of the largest IT development teams in BGI, we are responsible globally for the applications that underpin the investment process.
Our operations platform is undergoing significant changes in terms of implementing strategic solutions aligning with global directions, as well as business needs/growth in the coming years.
To support the various applications involving the above mentioned business functions a dedicated support team has been formed regionally in Japan.
Job requirements
Strong previous track record in IT applications development with major experience in production support / maintenance of applications in a similar capacity or equivalent.
-Java/J2EE application programming experience with minimum 2 – 3 years experience on Web based applications including knowledge on XML, XSLT etc.
Have good concepts and working experience with SQL, stored procedures on MS SQL Server, Sybase (preferred) databases
Working experience with any standard application server like JBOSS, Web Logic etc. -
Basic concepts or inclination to work on new technologies on platforms
Strong understanding and experience of the production lifecycle – support processes, issue resolutions, reporting and interactions with users and global teams as necessary
Good understanding of the SDLC, standard quality processes
Has led or has strong desire to lead a team of 1 or 2 support engineers; supporting day to day business operations.
5 to 7 years of IT experience with preference for financial industry exposure/work experience
Good understanding of the financial industry business in general with focus on asset management business
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with the business
Excellent analytical / problem solving skills, excellent communication skills and good sense of prioritization with demonstrative self-initiative
BS or equivalent in computer science, mathematics or related fields
Fluent English ability mandatory.
Japanese ability (esp. reading) highly desirable; but not a must.
