Merrill Lynch is seeking a Portfolio Counselor at VP level, with demonstrable knowledge in mutual funds and AI to support Private Wealth Managers based in Hong Kong.

Candidates for the role of a Merrill Lynch Portfolio Counselor must have demonstrable knowledge and experience in mutual funds and AI.

This role supports Hong Kong based Private Wealth Managers with a Taiwanese clientele and will therefore require some travel to Taiwan each month.

This role reports to the Head of Portfolio Counseling & Sales and is supported by a team of Portfolio Analysts.

This role entails the following:

- Interaction with Private Wealth Managers;

- Interaction with Market Management;

- Providing leadership in product pre-positioning;

- Providing advice on portfolio issues across product offerings ;

- Recommending tailor-made, individually-optimized, investment portfolios for clients;

- Proactively participating in joint client meetings to:

- Review portfolio holdings;

- Review portfolio performance;

- Partnering with the business to provide training across product offerings

- Candidates should have strong buy & sell side experience. They will be exected to partner and support the Senior Wealth Managers whilst also training the less Senior.

- Open Architecture experience pertaining to mutual funds is desired. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of mutual funds from the very first day.

- Languages essential for this role will be English and Mandarin.
