Job description:
-Working closely with Japan controllership and the related accounting technical advisory groups within the company's global structure to identify both accounting and operational risk and implement preventive measures
-Performing end-to-end internal control reviews of major processes which have significant financial impact. This includes summarizing and presenting key observations, developing action plans with business partners and controllership groups
-To review and assess compliance with the company's policies of business units across the market
-Performing assessment on compliance with financial reporting regulatory requirements
-Monitoring of the control environment through:
-Providing support to process owners and business leaders to drive closure of internal audit management action plans
-Partnering with process owners to analyze root cause, determine financial reporting impact and taking action to close any gaps highlighted in internal control procedures, non-compliance or operational risk events
-Preparing monthly scorecard on internal control updates
-Presenting to the Japan President and Finance VP quarterly financial dashboard & controls certificate
-Lead the market risk committee to support ongoing good corporate governance
-Act as a subject matter expert on SOX activities and proactively support process owners to monitor and close any gaps identified
-Manage quarterly testing of Controllership owned processes
-Act as a subject matter expert on financial reporting controls for any major business projects, new products and processes
-Participate in any global FCO development initiatives
-Partnership with Asia Pacific and global FCO colleagues, and the wider controllership and finance groups
-The successful candidate must be able to work in a dynamic environment, with multiple competing priorities
-It is essential that the candidate be able to collaborate with various business partners at all levels to align on solutions to control improvement opportunities

Requirements:
-A degree in Finance or Accounting with CPA, CA, CIA professional qualification
-A minimum of 6 years experience in internal audit, external audit, and financial reporting or risk management experience with strong understanding of COSO internal control framework, Sarbanes Oxley Act and financial regulatory compliance requirements
-A good understanding of US GAAP accounting and the company's policies is essential
-Knowledge of Six Sigma quality tools and monitoring of Six Sigma metrics
-Proven ability to conduct complex end-to-end internal control reviews in a global organisation involving cross-border functional groups
-Ability to collaborate with team members across geographies in a matrix structure and deliver on customer expectations
-Ability to communicate and present to employees at every level is critical
-Proven leadership skills
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills to identify and resolve financial risks and track issues to conclusion
-Demonstrated ability to forge partnerships, gain respect and credibility across the business in order to implement world class programs
-Proven ability to lead and influence without authority
-Demonstrated excellence in communication skills, both written and oral including experience with delivery of high-level presentations to senior management
-Strong project management and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
-Flexible approach with the ability to re-prioritise and respond to changing demands
-A highly focused and self-motivated mindset with the ability to use own initiative and be proactive with an energetic attitude
-A proven results oriented attitude
