POSITION:

The Head of Equity Investments will have overall responsibility for developing equity investment policies and programs (fundamental and quantitative) that achieve the investment objectives of the organization and its clients. They will also direct equity investment management activities; including the portfolio management, research, trading, and investment risk management functions of Wealth Management, and have overall responsibility for investment performance.

Reporting directly to the CIO, the Head of Equity Investments will direct the activities of all wealth management investment professionals and will be responsible for the equity group’s business results (e.g. expense management, resource allocation, pricing/fee negotiations), investment performance (including manager evaluations), product strategy (development, structuring and positioning), new business development, and client servicing. The Head of Equity Investments will also be a member of the Investment Strategy Committee, as well as the Investment Management leadership team, helping to establish the group’s short and long term strategies and objectives. Representing the equity investments asset class(es) and our capabilities to internal and external constituencies, and leveraging the capabilities of the broader BNY Mellon, will be an important component of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The qualified candidate will have 15 + years of experience in a senior investment management role with in-depth knowledge of, and experience in, equity investments. The incumbent must have strong quantitative skills, excellent communication skills, strong industry contacts, and an understanding of the high net worth business. The successful candidate will also have proven leadership experience including experience managing teams of investment professionals. MBA or other graduate degree in business, economics, finance, or related field. CFA preferred.
