Department
The Credit Strategy Group serves Moody's Analytic's clients by providing objective, quantitatively-based economic research and advice to support their credit investment, strategy, and risk management processes. A primary tool in this effort is the Moody's Market Implied Ratings (MIR) Service. The Quantitative Research team of the Credit Strategy Group uses the data from the MIR service, as well as other economic data, to provide timely and relevant credit risk research on topics related to corporate and structured finance, derivatives, credit portfolio and risk management.
Responsibilities
The Associate will contribute to the Quantitative Credit Research team by assisting in the production of periodic, client-focused research papers and projects of the highest quality using the Market Implied Ratings database.
Qualifications
-A bachelor's degree in economics, finance, or a related field -Experience with or a sound understanding of the capital markets (particularly fixed income) -Working knowledge of MS Access, SAS, Stata, Matlab, or similar data management and statistical programming software is essential
Key Tech and Non-Tech Skills
-Research experience (either academic or private sector) in the fields of economics/finance, working with large economic data sets -Strong quantitative aptitude, both theoretical and empirical, and proven analytical skills; knowledge of basic econometrics -Outcome-oriented focus and ability to work well in a team -Highly organized and efficient, with an ability to multi-task and meet deadlines -Strong attention to detail
