Job Description Overview Calypso Technology is seeking a Post-Sales Back or Front Office Business Analyst with relevant work experience in the capital markets industry or at a financial software company. This should include support and/or implementation of front or Back Office Systems for Derivatives in one or more of the following: FX, Interest Rates, Credit or Equity.
Calypso offers global opportunities for our Professional Services team which are located in New York, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Copenhagen, Korea and Mumbai.
Responsibilities:
In-depth, hands-on involvement directly with customers implementing the Calypso system. Work directly with users of the Calypso system to gather and document their business requirements, and implement those requirements. Follow up with the users to test the implementation, achieve signoff, and continue to move the system toward go-live.
Work hands-on with the system, configuring and testing it to ensure it meets the business requirements. This will include areas such as the setup of static data like counter party info and settle delivery instructions, configuration of message generation rules, configuration of accounting rules, setup of position management and liquidation rules, etc.
Help customers identify functional gaps in the core back office product, and create detailed functional specifications for the gaps.
Train users on basic use of the system, new functionality, etc.
Skills & Requirements:
4+ years working in systems or business analysis, preferably in the capital markets industry
Detailed hands-on knowledge about industry-standard back office processing functional areas, including settlements (SWIFT, ACH, FedWire), documentation (confirmation, advices, reset advices, etc.) and accounting (general ledger, PnL accounting, etc.). Functional experience should encompass any or all of the following asset classes: credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, equity derivatives, fixed income, or FX.
Experience in settlement management and accounting processing, covering one of the following would be an advantage; CLS, Target./EBA, EurocClear, GSCC.
Technical skills (Java/C++) is a plus. Experience designing/building back office systems will be especially valuable.
Strong ability to map conceptual financial and business elements to practical system capabilities. Should be able to translate back office business requirements into actual system configuration.
Excellent interpersonal skills. The person in this role will spend a significant amount of time working hands-on educating and training customers.
Willingness and ability to travel periodically, as required.
