Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Accounting Department, including general ledger maintenance, monthly closing of books, preparation of internal financial statements, financial statements and schedules for 10-Q and 10-K, regulatory reports for the bank and parent company and other subsidiaries and special analyses.
Experience: Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint Lotus 1 2 3 Automated general ledger systems Jack Henry experience is a plus JDE experience a plus 10 years experience with a track record of increasing responsibility Minimum of 3 years managerial experience in an accounting environment
Knowledge: Accounting for banks, mortgage banking activities, factoring and general accounting knowledge, including familiarity with recent FASB and related accounting pronouncements. General knowledge of federal and NYS/NYC tax laws for financial institutions
Education: BS in Accounting; CPA a plus
Ability to present issues to Senior Management including the CFO
