Manhattan based global hedge fund seeks entry level programmer to work in challenging proprietary trading environment that rewards well. This entry level position is a support role with the firm's software development team located on the trading floor.

The team uses .NET technology to rapidly develop in-house solutions for portfolio managers, traders, analysts and operations staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting issues reported by users
  • Application training
  • Maintenance / feature extensions of in-house applications
  • Gather user requirements and develop project specifications
  • Test/QA projects
  • Document production issues

    Requirements:

  • 0-2 years programming experience
  • Programming experience with .NET or Visual Basic
  • SQL database development experience (designing tables, creating SQL statements)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with good GPA
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel helpful
  • Internship within the financial field a plus
