An opportunity exists for an OTC Operations Manager and will be responsible for managing a team who conduct all Operations functions to support the OTC Derivative Products. This includes OTC Fixed Income, Credit but predominantly OTC Equity derivative products.

It is required that the successful candidate has experience in handling Equity Structured products from an Operations perspective and is comfortable with dealing with the specific challenges these products can produce. This candidate will take on the role as OTC Manager and will manage a team of 5 (current team size). The business which is supported by the OTC team is growing rapidly. A large variety of new products are being developed and the candidate needs to be comfortable in a fast growing environment where pressures/demands are high. As new products are developed there will be the challenges of working through the new processes required as well as looking at all the controls that need to be implemented. Experience in setting up new processes would be very desirable. There is little Straight Through Processing [STP] associated with the equity structured products that we deal with and so the candidate must be able to work through the manual processes required and work on ways that automation could be achieved. Be comfortable generating, discussing and encouraging improvement ideas with team members and/or management.
Key responsibilities of the role are:
Dealing with the sales and trading desks in relation to the Equity/Fixed Income/Credit Derivative Products currently issued and manage staff/tasks within the team (responsibilities of the team include settlements processing, controls and documentation) as well as assisting OTC manager in developing processes and controls for new products as they are proposed
Provide internal and external clients with a high level of service in regards to payments, confirmations and general queries
A high degree of innovation and continuous improvement to take forward the new products and initiatives devised by the sales/trading desks as well as encouraging team members to bring forward ideas.
Ability to quickly learn existing process flows/systems, specifically within the team, and be able to discuss and advise other departments on our processes/ and gain an understanding of impacts on other departments/teams and the impact their processes have on OTC Operations.
High awareness of risk. Ensure regulatory policies are followed by all members of the team.
Performing staffs annual appraisals, conduct regular 1-2-1’s and coach/support staff in their development.
