The Department: The Fixed Income department provides research, portfolio management, and trade execution for accounts that invest in our Fixed Income services. The Fixed Income team consists of about 160 people globally, in locations such as Hong Kong, London, Melbourne, Montreal, New York, and Tokyo.
The Position: The principal function of the Associate Portfolio Manager is to support the senior portfolio management team, ensuring that investment strategies are properly implemented in the portfolios.
Specific responsibilities include: * Monitor client portfolios' position weights compared to benchmarks and targets. Highlight deviations and enter orders to rebalance portfolios. * Ensure cash balances are consistent with product guidelines and current investment strategy. * Construct trade orders to be sent to Trading Desk for execution. * Check trade orders for compliance with client guidelines before execution. * Review and resolve any potential "post trade" compliance breaches. * Generate purchase or sell orders to meet client contributions or withdrawals. * In consultation with Portfolio Managers, review and approve client guidelines. * Manage/oversee transition of portfolios to our Fixed Income services. * Liaise with other departments internally, including Trading, Legal/Compliance, Sales/Marketing, and Investment Operations. * Implement client requests and respond to client queries.
The Candidate: * Graduate with up to three years' industry-related experience, preferably in Fixed Income. * The ideal candidate must have strong communication, quantitative, analytical, and computer skills, and be very detail-oriented. * Candidate must also be able to prioritize, work well under pressure, work well independently, and be a team player. * CFA candidate or charterholder desired.
