Job Description:

This exciting opportunity is based in our White Plains, New York office.

The product manager has a business-orientation and is responsible for the development and implementation of product plans for the Real-Time Services product family. The Product Manager will work closely with multiple internal stakeholders (e.g. technology, sales and marketing) and external stakeholders (e.g. clients, prospects and partners) to create, maintain and enhance a product portfolio that enables Interactive Data Real-Time Services (RTS) compete effectively in the markets we serve today. In addition, The RTS Product Manager will work with the product management team and senior management to identify new product and new market opportunities outside our current scope. This person is involved through all stages of the product lifecycle from beginning to end.

The position involves close interaction with technology, sales, senior management, and key customers. A strong technical background is an advantage. Job duties include gathering product requirements from prospects directly and /or through the sales department, and customers, writing requirements documents, and monitoring and project managing the implementation of multiple product initiatives. In addition, a key aspect of the job is communicating the status of product projects to all interested parties through regularly scheduled product meetings. Other product management responsibilities include Competitive Analysis, Win/Loss Analysis, and Monitoring industry innovations.

The product manager provides product line support for sales and marketing channels. This position requires close interaction with marketing communications and sales management. Strong communication skills are a must. Duties include converting technical features into key market messages and launching the products into market. The PM owns:

  • Defining customer segments and determining market messages
  • Maintaining product launch plans
  • Creating standard presentations and demo scripts
  • Writing white papers and technical communiqués
  • Documenting competitive information and related industry news
  • Facilitating direct sales and channel training
  • Supporting trade shows and other company-sponsored events
  • Visiting with clients / prospects as sales specialist

Qualifications:

Candidates should have several years of product management experience with full product lifecycle experience. A strong technical background is an advantage, and solid project management skills are highly desireable. Finanacial services experience is essential, with experience in the market data industry is preferred. MBA preferred.
