Credit Analyst
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform analysis and administration of a high yield debt portfolio.
Conduct high yield research focusing on issuer’s fundamentals, debt structure and overall credit-worthiness.
Analyze event-driven and “special situation” credits, including distressed and bankrupt companies.
Build and maintain decision support tools including forecasts, valuation models and databases.
Develop trading execution and market surveillance strategies.
Perform quantitative risk studies to assess the systematic risk.
Determine and monitor hedging.
Requirements of the Candidate include:
3 - 5 years experience with high yield, leveraged finance or distressed debt with solid knowledge of fixed income basics.
CFA, MBA and/or CPA is a plus.
Computer programming skills an asset.
CDO and structured finance experience a plus.
Strong quantitative skills, familiarity with statistical concepts.
An understanding of business valuation techniques and credit analysis.
Must be a strong self-starter and able to work well independently.
