Your main task consists of being the competence centre within the company for all IFRS relating to:
1) Consolidation (IAS 27, IAS 28, IAS 31 and IFRS 3): Follow up of these standards (existing, amendments, exposure draft, discussion papers, ...) and working closely together with the Consolidation Department. Your task mainly consists of : determining the consolidation method, provide guidance on concept of 'control', business combination (including impairment), purchase acquisition, accounting treatment for discontinued operations/assets held for sale, ...
2) Earnings Per Share : Although it is the Consolidation Department which computes the EPS, it is the Accounting Policy Department's role to determine how that should be done.
3) Follow-up of the IASB activities: Each time the IASB publishes an amendment, exposure draft or new standard you are responsible to coordinate the process of determining the financial, operational and business impact at the company Group level.
4) You will be responsible for the internal company IFRS-website. That includes a creating a new lay-out as well as including the most up-to-date documents.
5) You are playing a key role between the Accounting Policy Department and the Consolidation Department. You will be involved in the analysis of large transactions done in the whole company group.
Your profile
- Experience: 3 to 4 year experience in consolidation in an IFRS environment;
- Core Competencies: Good knowledge of consolidation and IFRS;
- Language Skills: Good knowledge of English and French or Dutch;
- Specific Knowledge: Knowledge of Magnitude consolidation software is an asset;
- Personality: A team player eager to learn. Having good communication skills is a necessity as she/he is working relatively independent.
