BlackRock Solutions offers risk management, financial advisory, technology and investment accounting services and technology infrastructure and support services internally to BlackRock as well as to a variety of large financial Institutions

BlackRock Solutions Aladdin® system consists of a series of portfolio management, transaction processing and analytics modules designed to provide a highly automated, consistent process across all fixed income products. Aladdin® dramatically reduces operational costs and risk by helping to achieve a paperless office while providing users with immediate access to portfolio and trade information at both the highest and lowest levels of detail.

Role Description:

The data interfaces specialist will manage and coordinate the development, enhancement, and implementation of data interfaces between BlackRock’s Aladdin® system and clients’ in-house systems at large financial institutions. Most work will be performed at BlackRock’s headquarters in NYC. During implementations at new clients, depending on the location of the client, some travel may be required, at times as much as 50 percent. New implementations may last from four months to sixteen months.

Responsibilities:

New implementations

  • Understand the client’s existing systems and processes
  • Work with client to help them develop interfaces from their systems to Aladdin® which may be required?
  • Work with client to define how to integrate Aladdin® data into the client environment and retire existing client systems
  • Manage enhancements to meet new requirements presented by the client. Identify simple, creative solutions.
  • Configure and test the data interfaces. Support client testing of the interfaces.
  • Ongoing clients

  • Research and resolve interface issues from existing clients.
  • Provide training and answer questions as needed. Ongoing training is needed for many reasons; for example, new features in the interfaces, new financial products in the marketplace, and client staff turnover. Better yet: Identify ways to enable clients to answer their own questions without requiring on-site live training.
  • Establish strong relationships with the client’s interface team including business and technical specialists.
  • Core infrastructure

  • Develop detailed business and technical requirements for new interfaces or enhancements to existing interfaces. This may include developing prototypes or working models. Work with technical team who will code the request; or potentially code the request. Test, sign off, and deploy those interfaces.
  • Document new and existing interfaces. Ensure that every question from clients regarding Aladdin data interfaces has an answer that is written, accurate, complete, current, and accessibly directly by the client and by BlackRock support staff.

  • Skills and Qualifications:

    Required Experience

  • At least four years of experience working with system integration, investment trading systems, or analytic/risk management systems responsible for data interfaces in the capacity of product development or deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly master complex subject matter is required. Experience with financial products, particularly fixed income, liquidity and derivative securities and investment processes is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with PAM accounting system is a plus
