Fortigent LLC, based in Rockville, Maryland is a rapidly growing, innovative business-to-business provider of outsourced wealth management services to financial intermediaries.

With $20 billion in assets under advisement, Fortigent offers money manager research and performance reporting services to wealth management firms, family offices and banks.

Fortigent’s research department evaluates institutional money management firms and maintains a recommended list of investment products (i.e. separate accounts and mutual funds). The 10 person research department has an immediate need for an experienced Senior Research Analyst to assist the equity group with the evaluation of long-only equity managers.

The Senior Research Analyst will be responsible for:

• Assisting Directors with new searches for equity investment products. • Participating in major aspects of the due diligence process, including conference calls and meetings with money managers (some U.S. travel required). • Creating research reports and performing financial analysis on investment products. • Performing special research projects including asset allocation and portfolio strategy. • Writing manager reviews and market commentary.

Successful candidates will have following:

• Bachelor’s degree (BBA preferable). MBA optional. • 3-5 years experience with research on institutional money managers and/or mutual funds in an investment consulting or wealth management environment. • Progress towards CFA or CIMA designations a plus. • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, and the financial services industry. • Excellent verbal, writing and organizational skills. • Detail oriented and thorough work practices. • Advanced Excel skills. • Experience with Factset, PSN, eVestment Alliance, and/or Morningstar Principia databases. • Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills. • An interest in working in a team environment.
