This position would report to the Chief Administrative Officer and support the business development and operational infrastructure across the company with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
The position is with a highly respected, New York based provider of debt to middle market companies. The Company has satellite offices in Chicago, Atlanta and San Francisco; employs nearly 100 individuals and manages $3 billion in assets.
Position Overview: This position would report to the Chief Administrative Officer and support the business development and operational infrastructure across the company with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. The ideal person would have a portfolio management and/or financial services industry background combined with solid IT and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership, oversight, and hands-on management of the Company’s IT infrastructure and associated services.
Create, update and enhance operations IT policies and procedures, plan and execute preventative maintenance activities and initiatives.
Create and/or maintain an operation and update manual for outsourced IT staff.
Participate in budget planning and management of IT budget expenditures.
Negotiate and manage vendor support contracts.
Perform technical work, delegate work assignments, perform resource allocation, planning, and control, measure results, and write status reports.
Build relationships with the end-user community and other IT groups to ensure systems operational efficiency and stability.
Establish and maintain disaster recovery sites, protocol and procedures
Negotiate, write, and report on internal and external service agreements.
Deliver high quality and consistent IT service to the organization.
Administer and assure the orderly resolution of help desk calls.
Act as the lead for the administration of, and maintenance to internal systems programs such as Solomon Accounting, Wall Street Office, Microsoft Office and SalesLogix.
Track and manage the Company’s portfolio of software licenses, software, hardware, and other IT supplies.
Oversee technological requirements for new hires including creating network and email accounts, setting up laptops/desktops, and updating company phone lists and email address books.
Act as the lead for the purchase of software, hardware and other IT supplies as approved by management.
Promote the responsible usage and care of the Company’s equipment.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications: Successful candidates must have:
At least 5 years of IT experience with a focus on infrastructure, management of computer operations, networking and system administration.
B.Sc. degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and training
Diverse skill set, with demonstrated ability to set priorities and assign resources, train, motivate, evaluate, and manage a team.
Broad understanding of operating systems, hardware platforms, telecommunications, security and storage technologies. Experience supporting a network infrastructure with remote, co-location facilities and high availability solutions.
Experience with data centre contingency planning – data backup, off-site storage, alternative site and data replication strategies, recover planning.
Experience with data, network, and internet security, network intrusion prevention, vulnerability testing, authentication and encryption.
Experience with implementing network and system monitoring tools
Experience with SQL Server, MS Exchange, Windows 2003, MS Active Directory, SAN technology, firewalls, routers, switches, DNS, DHCP, FTP, and voice, data and video telecommunications.
Experience with remote access solutions including Citrix, OWA and Blackberry.
Experience in contract negotiation and vendor management.
