Our Client: Our client is one of the biggest banks in the UK based on market capitalisation. London is the Head Office. Over the last 3-4 years the bank has doubled in size, especially wholesale banking which is growing at 30%/annum, The head office of both wholesale and consumer banking is based in Singapore. They are now looking for a Product Champion for the Equity Capital Markets area of the Internal Audit Team. The position reports to the Head of Capital Markets, who in turn report to reports to the Head of Audit, Wholesale Banking, based in Singapore. There are other Product Champions: for ALM & Regional Markets; Rates & FX; Corporate & Princpal Finance; Transaction Banking and Origination & Client Coverage. Responsibilities: - Plan and manage audit assignments to evaluate the effectiveness of the controls in operation in the banking business;
- Contribute to an increased awareness in the business of the management of risk and the importance of business controls and working practices;
- Contribute to the development of the internal audit methodology and working practices;
- Show flair for new product development.
Requirements: - An accounting or internal audit qualification;
- The applicant should have significant understanding of recent developments in internal auditing and corporate governance, particularly as they relate to the banking sector;
- The individual should have a background in internal/external audit in Equities Trading products, FX and Derivatives, preferably with an investment bank;
Relevant experience in sales and trading audit experiences in global market products such as Rates, FX, MM and derivatives;
- Teamwork: be an effective team player who is able to work both in a multicultural team environment as well as independently. Travel around the franchise must be expected: around 40%, usually in blocks of 1 week.
Remuneration and Career Progression: For the right individual, this role provides and outstanding opportunity to progress. Base can range from £60,000 to £80,000 (HKD922,680-1,230,340) depending on experience and abilities, plus performance-related bonus and full banking package.
