One of the world’s leading financial firms seeks a Head of Equity Services to take overall responsibility for ensuring that the Equities trading business in the Tokyo office is supported by an efficient and effective operations process.

Position Description:

    The Head of Equity Services will take overall responsibility for ensuring that the Equities trading business in the Tokyo office is supported by an efficient and effective operations process. Specifically, the selected individual will be expected to:

    • Resolve any issues by effectively navigating the operations organizational structure to locate the source of trouble, and take any necessary actions
    • Take part in senior level discussions on business strategy
    • Develop solid business plans and budgets to deliver a cost effective, and efficient support service
    • Proactively escalate real or potential problems and issues to the applicable business heads and suggest appropriate remedies
    • Take direct management responsibility for the Cash Equity Trade Support, Equity Derivatives Trade Support, and the Equity Stock Lending teams (Approx 30 headcount)
    • Be generally accountable for all of operational issues for the Equity Business in Japan.

    Requirements:

    • Extensive experience (10+ years) with Equities business support in Japan
    • Strong understanding of equities trading work flow from front to back
    • Excellent leadership skills and strong, clear and direct communication style
    • Experience managing large teams (i.e. managing managers)
    • Proactive attitude and ability to foresee and resolve potential issues before they become problems
    • Confident personality and ability to present to senior leadership
    • Fluent bi-lingual skills in Japanese and English are strongly preferred.
