The role is to work closely with the IT BCM head to drive the strategy for Resilience and Recovery for BGI across all technology layers and supporting facilities in the Americas.
Job Responsibilities:
For new application developments, he/she will work closely with development teams through the development lifecycle to ensure:
Business requirements for Resilience and Recovery capability are clearly identified and costed
The design and architecture is appropriate to those requirements
The existing infrastructure can support those requirements
New infrastructure is appropriate to meet those requirements
Testing of the capability to prove it works when fired in anger
For operational systems, he/she will attend high impact incidents and post mortems to identify any adverse continuity trends and any potential vulnerability that needs further investigation. They will also ensure large scale testing takes place to prove the recovery capability of the data centers.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technology in the Infrastructure and Applications world, as well as proven Project Management and people skills. This is a demanding role that requires someone comfortable with taking local responsibility for their direction and actions as well as being able work well with local and global teams. Good communication and facilitation skills are an advantage, but training and mentoring will be provided as necessary. No previous BCM experience is required.
