This role will have a project finance focus and the appointed executive will be working in a project finance execution role. This will involve multiple tasks including:
Leading the design and implementation of project finance structures in China.
Preparing and presenting Board papers to Group re. the structure, economics of the project, etc. and managing all Group communication re. project returns.
Preparing and presenting, as part of a team, a project finance model to the appointed project finance bank
Managing the banks due diligence process which includes a financial, technical, insurance and legal review
Negotiation of detailed terms with the project finance bank that arise in the project specific due diligence process
Interacting with local project partners with regards to financial structuring and project finance execution
Dealing with and managing a large team of external advisers that are required to carry out due diligence roles on behalf of the company and the project finance bank
Working with project engineers to ensure that project-tendering process is carried out so that project financing can be completed efficiently
The ideal candidate will have corporate finance or transaction services experience. The role will be suitable for someone from an accounting or banking background that is extremely commercial. Candidates with a strong working knowledge of taxation, financial modelling, and legal documentation for corporate and project finance transactions will have a distinct advantage
