The Compliance Officer will support the Chief Compliance Officer, having primary responsibility for the compliance administration and operational reviews of the Hirtle Callaghan liquid, private equity and specialist managers.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Compliance Officer will support the Chief Compliance Officer, having primary responsibility for the compliance administration and operational reviews of the Hirtle Callaghan liquid, private equity and specialist managers. The role will also be responsible for internal compliance reviews and the administration of the policies and procedures of the firm. In addition, the role will also be responsible for the review of legal documents for completeness and compliance with the firm’s AML policy, in connection with the new account process. The role requires a strong understanding of compliance and operational issues, changing laws and regulations, and developing risk areas. The role must me able to work independently and interact with senior level specialist managers.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibility to administer compliance and operational reviews of the Hirtle Callaghan Liquid, Private Equity and Hedge Specialist Managers;

Comprehensive understanding of operational and compliance components of Liquid and Hedge Fund Specialist Managers (private equity a plus), including trading, valuation, settlements, and regulatory mandates (code of ethics, disaster recovery, etc.)

Ability to work independently and interact with senior management of Specialist Managers.

Responsible for researching developments in compliance and operational best practices, changes in laws and regulations and identifying new risk areas for the firm and its Specialist Managers;

Responsible for documenting results of reviews, drafting management reports and communicating issues to Management;

Individual must be able to think critically and analytically of the information presented by Specialist Managers to be able to identify potential compliance or operational issues;

Responsible for internal compliance reviews and the administration of the policies and procedures of the firm.

Responsible for the review of legal documents for completeness and compliance with the firm’s AML policy, in connection with the new account process

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience internally at an Investment Advisor or Hedge Fund. Alternatively, a candidate may be successful that has worked in multiple areas of Third Party Administrator for a Hedge Fund or Mutual Fund, and therefore broad experience.

Required - strong Microsoft Office suite skills.

Ability to travel (approximately 40%).
