Seeking an Electronic Trading Technologist within Quant Strategies. This top hedge fund's Quantitative Strategies team is a quantitative Portfolio Management Desk.

The Desk manages one of the largest hedge funds in the world using sophisticated quantitative models. It trades across assets classes on a global basis using a wide variety of instruments (cash securities, futures, forwards, options, interest rate swaps and many other OTC derivatives). QS Technology supports the full breadth of the spans a production statistical portfolio construction system, through to generating and executing orders in derivative instruments. The QS Technology team works closely with the business providing a wide range of services. The technology group is expanding and requires a programmer analyst with trading desk exposure, electronic trading systems experience and strong technology skills. This role also requires a keen interest in supporting a fast moving, demanding and stimulating business. The rewards of this role include working with a first class team, learning the quantitative technology platform and working with the investment management process from construction to execution. Principal Responsibilities: ** Work as part of the Trading Technology team, reporting to the team**s manager. ** Play a high profile role working side by side with the QS Trading Desk to specialize in execution management systems and building electronic trading capability across a variety of products and markets. ** Understand buy side trading workflow for each product in great detail, both internal and external to the QS team. The product set includes Futures, Forwards, IR Swaps, CDS, Option and more. ** Work across multiple software technologies: Java, Sybase and UDB, VB, UNIX. ** Making extensions to the traders electronic trading desktop and guiding server side external integration. Experience/Skills: Core Skills ** At least 5 years of Java experience in a trading technology role. C++ can also be OK depending on your strength and relevant experience. Algorithmic trading / strategy development experience is a plus. ** Java, Database (ideally Sybase or UDB). Some VB/VBA is desirable but not mandatory. ** Ability to: - Interface with application vendors, and working within their systems. - Cooperate within a team and work in a rigorous and stimulating environment - Gather requirements and distill business analysis - Prototype and develop efficiently, test new software ** Strong commitment toward best practices within enterprise development and deployment Highly Desirable Skills ** Experience of ECN, DMA, Algo Trading, Allocation Algorithms, FIX ** Handling streaming market data, low latency systems.
