BlackRock is looking for an Analyst/Associate to join the Performance/NAV Team in the Fixed Income Separate Accounts Group in Account Administration. The Performance/NAV Team is responsible for Performance/NAV calculation for a large number of fixed income separate accounts. This includes analysis/comparison with third parties such as custodian banks and accounting agents. Furthermore, the team works closely with the Cash Reconciliation Group in the Fixed Income Separate Accounts Group to ensure minimal risk in Performance/NAV calculation caused by cash reconciliation exceptions.
Conduct calculation and analysis of portfolio, Net Asset Value and Performance. Liaise with internal parties such as Portfolio Managers, Account Managers, Operations and Technology. Assist in conducting and implementing procedures and controls to ensure AIMR and SAS-70 Audit requirements. Active participation in departmental/group projects such as automation and process streamlining. Overall Responsibility: Conduct calculation and analysis of portfolio, Net Asset Value, and Performance. Work closely with all departments of BlackRock to ensure accuracy of performance/NAV calculation. Support Portfolio Management Group (PMG) and Account Management Group (AMG) regarding investment performance related issues. Manage client relationships effectively by supporting AMG in servicing clients. Prepare and provide extensive reconciliation with custodian banks and accounting agents to prevent/resolve NAV/Performance discrepancies. Manage BlackRock’s relationship with third parties such as custodian banks, accounting agents, consultants, and auditors. Supervise and assist custodian banks and accounting agents that service BlackRock portfolios. Coordinate with other departments in BlackRock such as Operations, AMG, PMG, Finance, and etc on various issues that arise during the course of business. Coordinate and conduct special projects aside from routine job functions for the whole Administration Group when needed. Assist in re-engineering BlackRock’s operating environment that includes developing specifications for transaction processing, streamlining existing processes, and participating in various automation projects to enhance productivity and control. Participate in the hiring and training process of newly hired professionals and interns in the Administration Group. Prepare, review and provide ad-hoc report to clients as required. Participate in testing and implementation of Straight Through Processing research and reconciliation tool. Ideal candidate: Candidate must possess at least three to five years experience in Performance, fund accounting, and/or operations. Bachelor's degree is required. A strong working knowledge of fixed income securities including MBS, futures, options, and swaps is required. Works well in a team environment. Computer proficiency in Excel, Word and Bloomberg required. Has an entrepreneurial spirit that is willing to take on additional responsibility quickly.
