The Role Bloomberg is looking for qualified legal analysts to join its legal compliance products group. Each legal analyst will develop new legal information products by creating, organizing, and producing innovative current awareness and research products in selected compliance areas. Using legal research and writing skills, a legal analyst will create advanced and sophisticated written legal analysis within their expertise. An ability to understand legal issues and create legal analytical content for one or more of the following compliance areas is necessary: Bank Regulation, European Regulation, Financial Crimes, Insurance Regulation, and Securities Regulation. Candidates with experience in the following areas are encouraged to apply: Basel II, Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control, Insurance Rate Regulation, Insurance Claims, Solvency II, FINRA, and the UK Financial Services Authority.
Law degree from an accredited law school
Minimum of 2 years of experience
Excellent editing, legal research, analysis, and writing skills
Ability to complete assigned research and writing projects by prescribed deadlines
Must be able to work in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment
Effective communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal
Prior law journal or legal writing experience is desirable
