This Business Development Officer (BDO) will report to the Western Division Sales Manager of the Private Client Group Channel. The primary target audience will be Broker-Dealer Advisors in Southern California (ex-LA Metro area). Candidates need to live in their territory. Expectations will be to effectively manage the territory in order to exceed personal and team sales goals. The BDO serves as the central point of contact in the above-mentioned territory for the US-Intermediary Investor Business (IIB) Private Client Group channel.
Responsibilities:
Call on Advisors in order to support and grow their business through the use of iShares
Deliver sales presentations, seminars and meetings with Advisors
Report weekly activities and accomplishments
Manage budget to maximize time and resources
Manage all conference activity and speaking engagements within the region
Work with Business Development Associate to maximize territory sales coverage
8-10 years outside sales experience with mutual fund, separate account or hedge fund firm
NASD series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses required
Ability to develop relationships with advisors and regional coordinators, and deliver ideas and information that will generate sales and assets
Ability to represent BGI in a professional manner
Extensive knowledge of the applicable regions
Possess existing sales relationships with key advisors, branch managers and regional coordinators at Merrill Lynch, Smith Barney, UBS, Morgan Stanley, Wachovia and Oppenheimer
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Sales presentation skills
