BlackRock is looking for a Portfolio Manager to join our separate accounts business in our Plainsboro, NJ office. In this capacity, you will be directly responsible for the supervision of individual trust investment portfolios. The goal is to deliver competitive performance, while meeting client needs and requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Consistently implement investment strategies to assigned trust accounts in accordance with its designated investment objective and investment style.
  • Maintain in-depth daily knowledge of the securities markets. This includes individual securities, mutual funds, and a broad range of portfolio management products. Become a trusted and respected member of the Private Investors trust portfolio management team, attending and contributing to team meetings.
  • Successfully participate in formulating investment strategies for managed Mutual Fund and Exchange Traded Fund investment platforms. Understanding market data resources such as Morningstar, Bloomberg, and Lipper is a plus.
  • Ability to understand and discuss performance results at the portfolio level, as well as, each separate economic sector and its respective industry benchmark.
  • Maintaining high compliance standards is a hallmark of this portfolio management team. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to sustaining these standards.
  • A critical aspect of this job is the ability to partner with the various Trust Officers that are assigned to supervise the legal and administrative aspects of these trust accounts. A basic understanding of trusts is expected.
  • Prepare and present client reports as needed. Deliver clear presentations on the markets, investment offerings and strategies, performance, and economic outlook.
  • Act as an ambassador for Private Investors, articulating the division’s value proposition including client service, investment expertise, and strategic initiatives. Respond promptly to investment-related inquiries from Trust Officers, Financial Advisors, and trust clients. Some sales support may also be required from time-to-time for prospective clients.
  • Requirements:

  • Five years of portfolio management experience is preferred. Candidate must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of and interest in the securities markets. They will be able to successfully answer in-depth investment-related questions on a broad range of equity, fixed income, and economic topics.
  • NASD Series 7 and 66 Registration is a requirement of this position either at the time of hire or within a designated time after hire.
  • The individual should be well-organized and possess excellent organizational and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is important.
  • Successful candidate will be a self–starter and able to effectively operate in a highly team-oriented and collaborative environment. They will have strong interpersonal skills and are expected to develop solid working relationships with intra-departmental partners.
  • An MBA, CFA or other advanced degree/qualification is highly preferred, but not mandatory.
