Java Developer at Top Investment Bank
Provides vision, expertise and technology-based solutions in long range planning in the area of systems architecture. Serves as resident expert to conducts studies, investigate the latest technology developments and analyze impact of current and future system requirements. Recommends technology, drafts and presents proposed corporate policies, drafts and presents proposed procedures, practices and standards. Ensures that new initiatives conform to the firm's long term strategic goals. Establishes good working relationships with peers and outside organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will work within a team on FX e-Commerce and Orders projects to design and architect applications and components in terms of user experience, entitlements, reliability, performance and BCP.
Including:

  • Release and Build processing
  • Design and develop software components
  • Design and execute all infrastructure related tasks (Including BCP, eTraps, External interfaces, messaging and system communication, Monitoring tools, script writing)
  • Non-functional requirements including performance and capacity planning and security
  • Create architecture, functional design, and technical documentation
  • Level 3 Production Support
  • Interact with IB Tech-wide community for adoption of new technology

    Required Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge:


  • Strong knowledge of Java development including Spring Frameworks
  • Prior experience with large message based systems and third-party communications software using XML and JMS, or TibRv, Corba, SonicMQ, MQSeries and reporting tools
  • Expertise in: Multi—threaded and event-driven applications in Java, usage of SQL and stored procedures in Oracle
  • Experience with SWT, Swing or similar GUI frameswork
  • Solid communication skills Required Work Experience:
  • Strong knowledge Trading floor / Market data technical environment
  • Data base query optimization, performance tuning and capacity planning
  • Knowledge of third-party communications software (TibRV, Corba, SonicMQ, MQSeries)
  • Ability to identify and coordinate resolution of issues
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment Desirable Technical/Business Skills and Knowledge:
  • Foreign Exchange business knowledge
  • Strong knowledge Trading floor / market data technical environment
  • Team leadership Reporting tools
