Energy & Metals Trading & Risk Management Consultants - all levels of experience.

Job Overview: Join Opportune's team of talented and highly experienced consultants delivering energy consultancy services to the market. Our clients include some of the largest and most respected trading and marketing divisions of major E&Ps, investment banks, and other market intermediaries. Houston is the primary work location, with additional, significant work in the Metro New York City area and London. We support new and growing energy and metals trading and marketing companies with the design, development and implementation of trading and logistics business processes, controls and enabling technologies. Job Duties, depending on role:

* Perform expert review of client's existing processes, controls and systems and make recommendations for improvement.

* Provide short-term, temporary, project-based assistance to solving some of their most challenging and burdensome business issues with a "get it done" attitude based on deep personal experience. Issues addressed can run the full spectrum of the business process chain of the company, frequently involving reconciliation and/or merger integration challenges.

* Identifies ETRM business systems solution requirements by interviewing clients; analyzing work processes and operations; establishing solution objectives; preparing specifications.

* Develops ETRM business systems solution by designing integrated models; identifying and evaluating solution options; resolving solution issues.

* Prepares project estimates by completing cost-benefit-risk analyses; identifying time, team member, and equipment costs; establishing timelines and milestones.

* Verifies ETRM solution by developing and completing tests.

* Protects project success by identifying, researching, analyzing, and escalating problems; implementing improvements.

* Provides project information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

* Updates job knowledge by tracking ETRM trends and technologies; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

* Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

* Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Skills/Qualifications: For all consultants: General Consulting Skills, Risk Management Processes, Logistics Processes, and Managing Processes. For systems consultants: Software Documentation, Software Project Management, ERP Implementation , Technical Leadership, Database Design, Object-Oriented Design (OOD), and/or Data Modeling.

Experience with Solarc RightAngle, TriplePoint Tempest and CXL, OpenLink Endur, TradeCapture ICTS, preferred; Sungard, Allegro and other ETRM systems experience is a positive.
