Our client is a Jersey based Offshore Fund delivering sophisticated wealth management and fund administration services globally.
With the support of the Client Director, manage the provision of accounting resources for designated client structures on a day-to-day basis to ensure the smooth and efficient handling of client accounting affairs. This will include co-ordinating team resources, monitoring deadlines, reviewing team members’ work and being the initial contact for any team members’ questions
Acting as a “B” signatory in respect of client affairs
Ensuring that all bookkeeping is reviewed by a qualified accounts team member and ensuring that appropriate technical support is provided to the bookkeeping team
Coordinating the investigation and resolution of accounting technical matters and ensuring that such matters are identified and investigated in a timely manner with appropriate involvement from the client, auditors and other service providers
With the support of the Client Director, ensuring that the accounts team maintains the accounting records for the designated client funds and related entities in accordance with the relevant constitutive documentation (and any additional requirements), client requirements, applicable laws and regulations and accounting standards. This will include the production of annual and periodic accounts, valuations, reconciliations, calculation of performance fees, calculation of other fees and providing other financial information as required
Liaising with the Administration Team in connection with the establishment of the proper maintenance of accounting methodology for existing and new clients
Liaising with the Administration Team in connection with the provision of accounting information for client meetings and the resolution of accounting related matters that result from such meetings
Liaising with clients, investment managers/advisers, auditors and other advisers as necessary in connection with accounting and other financial matters
Attending client and other meetings as required to discuss/provide input on financial related matters
Actively involved in monitoring and managing WIP, to explain any significant WIP movements, and to provide significant input into devising new procedures designed to improve efficiencies
Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, internal procedures and clients requirements
Ensuring duties are performed in a timely manner and that all internal and external deadlines are met
Undertaking other “ad hoc” duties as required
Ensuring company’s procedures are implemented and standards met
Skills/Experience
Relevant fund accounting experience preferred
Qualified accountant/qualified by experience
Highly analytical
Highly motivated and commercially aware
Knowledge of the funds industry would be a distinct advantage but is not a prerequisite
