The Investment Accounting Department of BlackRock Solutions provides accounting & reporting services to over 24 investment accounting clients. These services also include the performance calculation and reporting for a majority of the client base. The performance position is assigned the task of calculating and reporting performance accurately and within specific timeframes. This requires interacting with the Investment Accountants, the Asset Management Group, the Portfolio Management Group, as well as directly with the client.

Responsibilities:

  • Calculating performance for portfolios as well as composites.
  • Verifying data across the accounting and portfolio management platforms and reconciling/investigating differences
  • Responding to performance inquiries from account managers, clients and portfolios managers.
  • Preparation of client reports
  • Testing of automation
  • Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of fixed income products and the financial markets

  • Ability to investigate various issues across multiple data platforms

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure a high degree of accuracy

  • Problem solving skills are required for the multitude of issue that arise, often for issues that have not been witnessed before

  • Ability to identify and implements process improvements and controls

  • Willingness to take ownership of various responsibilities and special projects

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

  • Strong communication skills are necessary to communicate across the various teams on a daily basis

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office products

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to shift focus from one task to another quickly

  • Management skills to oversee a staff of 2 analysts

  • BS degree in Finance

  • 5 + years related work experience preferred
