A leading Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund is currently looking for an experienced Fund Accountant to join their Award Winning Fund that has doubled in size the last 12 months.
This role is for an individual ready to take on a range of responsibilities associated with hedge fund operations and finance. The successful candidate will join the Operations team as a hedge fund accountant, reporting to the Senior Fund Accountant/Head of Operations. The successful candidate would assist in the following areas: • Provide support for the Head of Department in reconciling and monitoring daily activity • Mirroring custodians’ and administrators’ records, and reconciling brokers’ statements on margined accounts • Assist in the production of daily Profit & Loss, weekly NAV estimates and month-end NAV, liaising with prime brokers, administrators and counterparties • Prime brokerage/administrator reconciliations • Assist in monitoring and hedging currency exposure • Assist in setting up complex instruments, booking of complex trades and corporate actions • Establish good working relationships with the operations department, the risk and performance team, the fund managers and the traders
Job Development Value: With the expected expansion of the funds under management, the candidate will have exposure to a much wider range of products than in a normal product control role.
Key skills/experience are as follows: • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) • Two years’ PQE within a hedge fund/asset management fund accounting role • NAV preparation experience • Strong financial markets and instrument knowledge • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills and commercial awareness • Spreadsheets to macro level • Meticulous attention to detail
Desirable • Tradar system experience desirable (not essential – training provided) • Offshore administration experience desirable • Exposure to bank debt/loan operations/administration
